I have been riding the Raptor Pro LTD for many sessions now and really wish I could have tried the larger size to get more time on it because I’ve enjoyed every second on it and almost like it more than the North Select. This board is incredibly fast thanks to the Gullwing Double Concave and although it might not direct as much spray out of your face like Crazyfly claims it isn’t as much as you would get with other boards. They claim you aren’t supposed to get any in your face and you still get some in very choppy conditions but like I said not as much as other boards that have you wiping your face ever piece of chop you pass.
On the subject of chop this board handles it like a pro, I have been riding the 132 so usually I am flying in atleast +12kts and I will plow through chop with ease then send the kite and rip across the face of waves. It may not be what it was designed for but I have been having a blast doing transitions ripping across the front of waves with this board. Take it in flat water or waist high waves and this board will handle take it all on. It has great upwind grip allowing you to cut back upwind so easily and still keep enough speed up. Load up this board and be amazed how much pop you will get.
A word of warning though Crazyfly weren’t kidding when they said they made the fins razor sharp to reduce drag so make sure you sand them down so you don’t cut yourself doing a grab like I did!!!!! Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed this board my only complaints would be all the little dimples on the footpads might hurt if you have been walking on burning beach sand and a jet black board isn’t always the easiest to find in the water if there is some chop.
