I originally rode this kite at the 2013 Cabrinha Dealer Meeting in Islamorada on both the 2013 Stylus, XCaliber, and Tronic and loved the kite on both boards and had anxiously waiting months to ride the kite again. The 18m is simply awesome!!!!!! I have been riding it on almost every board I could try from a raceboard, to twin tips, to directional, and even my skimboard and the kite just keeps me grinning. Cabrinha have decided to keep their SPRINT one pump system and shed weight elsewhere so even though its was an 18m it wasn’t like the old days where you spend a half hour pumping up each strut and then the leading edge and rest before you actually started your session. I used to have a 2006 Cabrina Contra 16.5m so I know all about it. I have only riden the larger 18m which I highly recommend for any summer light wind day!! The bar pressure for this kite is truly surprising and it may not turn like a 10 or 8m but if I had to choose between a 16m 2012 Switchblade or this kite I would take the Crossbow. If you do fly the 18m make sure to use the 5m extensions because it truly does help the kite fly better. Really hope I can try the smaller sizes so I may give some input about this kite in more than the racing and light wind arena. No matter what you ride you can be sure to have a blast in sub 9.5 kts.
